Email Notifications Options

Selecting General settings -> Email notifications options enables you to edit all email notifications which you send to your customers.

  1. Click on General settings in the Administration menu, select Email notifications options from the section menu.

  2. Set the options below according to your preferences:

Enable email notifications for customers about initially placed orders: If enabled, a customer gets a notification that his order has been initially placed and is under admin's consideration. This type of notification is sent to a customer when an online payment method is used (CC or Check processor). Technically this happens when the customer goes to an online processor to begin a payment transaction and the order gets the status "I" (Not finished) - the transaction is neither successful nor failed yet. To change the look of  this notification, edit the following templates:

mail/init_order_customer_subj.tpl

If you want to use HTML mail, also edit these templates:

mail/html/init_order_customer.tpl

mail/html/mail_header.tpl

mail/html/signature.tpl

If you do not want notifications about the initial placement of orders to be sent, disable this option.

 

The notification which is sent when the order gets queued (Q) can be changed by editing the following templates:

•  Notify the site administrator by email if unallowed request to site occurs:Select this check box if you want the store administrator to get an email notification if the system detects a potentially harmful GET or POST request to the store site which may be a sign of a hacker attack. This notification is a service message generated by X-Cart, it does not have a template which can be edited.

Enable email notifications for admin/provider about initially placed orders: Select this check box if you want the store administrators/providers to get email notifications about initially placed orders.

Send e-mail notifications about placed orders to providers who uploaded the purchased products (in addition to the orders department): Select this check box to send notifications about the orders placed at the store to the providers who uploaded the products included into these orders. Recurring billing notification to orders department: Select this check box to send the e-mail notifications to the orders department about subscription payments made automatically. The look of such notification messages is defined by these templates:
