You may find it necessary to put links to products in X-Cart database on external HTML pages (in the same store or on a different web site). X-Cart has the ability to generate HTML code that can be integrated into HTML pages to create these links. The HTML links generated by X-Cart provide 'Add to Cart' functionality: using such a link your customer will be able to add the product to cart directly from the page where a link to this product is located.
To generate HTML links:
Click on Search for products in the Products menu. X-Cart 'Product Management' section will be opened.
Use the provided 'Search for products' form to find the product for which you would like to generate HTML-links. The products found by your search query will be listed in the 'Search results' form.

Select the check box next to the product for which you would like to create an HTML-link. Click on Generate HTML-links. The 'Product links' section will be opened.
Use the link from the 'Link to product thumbnail'
form to put on your external page a link to the product thumbnail.
Use the link from the 'Simple HTML link to add 1 product to cart' form
to create a simple 'Add to cart' link using which your customers will
be able to put one product to the shopping cart.
Use the link from the 'Advanced HTML link with selectable quantity
and product options support' form to create a more complex link using
which your customers will be able to select the quantity and some options
of a product before adding it to the shopping cart.
