The X-Cart shopping cart software has a lot of modules. Some of them are built-in and are included in every X-Cart distribution. The others can be purchased separately.
The modular structure of X-Cart allows you to enable or disable the functional parts of your store according to your actual needs.
To enable the modules you need, go to the 'Modules' section of X-Cart.
Click on Modules in the Administration menu, the 'Modules' section will be opened.
Select the check boxes next to the names of the modules that need to be enabled.
• Advanced Order Management - This module allows you to modify your customers' orders after they have been placed (ordered products and gift certificates, customer information and order totals).
• Advanced Statistics - When this module is enabled your shop gathers advanced statistical data. For more information see Viewing Statistics.
• Antifraud - This module validates a customer's address during checkout and places a note into the order details.
• Bestsellers - This module enables bestsellers list (shows to customers which products have been sold the most often, if there have been no sales - which products have got the largest number of views).
• Customer Reviews - Allows voting and writing reviews on products.
• Detailed Product Images - If enabled, detailed product images can be added for your customers to see on the customer front end.
• Discount Coupons - If enabled, special coupons can be defined allowing your customers to get discounts when they order products from your store.
• Egoods - Activate this module, if you wish to sell electronically distributed products like software, music, movies, e-books etc.
• Extra Fields - If enabled, extra fields can be added to the product table.
• Fancy Categories - This module enables you to change the look of your categories menu (several alternative styles are provided).
• Froogle - This module allows to export products in Froogle compatible format
• Gift Certificates - If enabled, your customers can purchase gift certificates.
• Gift Registry - This module allows your customers to manage event lists and inform their friends about the products they would like to be bought. Wishlist module must be turned on.
• Greet Visitor - This module greets your customer by the name when he/she returns to your site. The customer's name is stored in the cookie on the customer's computer.
• Interneka - This module enables Interneka Affiliate Tracking Software support.
• Manufacturers - This module allows to classify products by the manufacturers.
• News Management - This module allows you to create and manage news lists.
• Order Tracking - If enabled, you can track order shipments from the UPS, USPS and FedEx postal services.
• Product Configurator - This module provides a good method for selling complex systems and sets. It allows your customers to assemble a composite product from a set of components. You can set compatibility rules that will allow your customers to build a completely functional product on their own.
• Product Options - If enabled, providers can add product options. For more information see Adding and removing product options.
• QuickBooks - This module enables you to export orders in QuickBooks format.
• Recommended Products - This module enables an auto-generated list of recommended products ('Visitors who bought this product also bought:...'-type of list).
• Stop List - This module allows you to protect your store from an external attack with stolen credit card numbers.
• Simple Mode - (PRO edition only) This module enables you to switch to GOLD operational mode in which providers have administrator's rights. After activating Simple Mode log out of the administrative zone and log in as provider. You need to have a valid provider account to disable Simple Mode and switch back to PRO.
• Subscriptions - This module enables the subscription feature for products.
• Upselling Products - This module enables providers to create a list of products related to a product.
• UPS Online® Tools - This module provides access to UPS OnLine ® Tools.
• Users online - This module enables you to track the number of users online.
• Wholesale Trading - If enabled, wholesale product prices can be defined.
• Wishlist - This module enables the wish list feature for registered customers.
• XAffiliate - This module enables affiliate programs for your store.
Click on Update to save the changes.
Note. Some modules require additional configuration through General Settings.
