Setting up Real-Time Processors

If you are going to enable your customers to use real-time shipping cost calculation, you will have to set up the appropriate real-time processors.

Setting up InterShipper

If you want to use InterShipper for real-time shipping rates calculation please follow the steps listed below.

  1. Go to the site www.intershipper.com and register for an account with InterShipper.

  2. Log in to X-Cart admin area and go to the Administration menu -> General settings -> Shipping options section.

  3. Select the Real-time shipping calculation check box.

  4. Select the If selected, use Intershipper calculation services... check box.

  5. Provide your InterShipper account information by entering your InterShipper username and password into the appropriate fields on the Shipping options page. Click on Save.

  1. Go to the Shipping methods section of the admin zone (Management menu->Shipping methods), select Real-time processors options from the section menu.

  2. Fill in the InterShipper options form according to your preferences. Click on Apply.

  1. If you haven't yet provided your original address in the Administration menu -> General settings -> Company options section, do it now.

  2. Go back to the Management menu -> Shipping methods -> Test Real-time Shipping Rates Calculation section and try to test real-time shipping rates calculation:
    - enter a destination address (for test purposes only)

- enter package weight (units should be defined in the Administration menu -> General settings -> General options section: 'Weight symbol' and 'Grams in the unit of weight defined by the weight symbol');

- click on the Submit button to get XML request and response results and estimated shipping rates.

Setting up Airborne

If you want to use Airborne for real-time shipping rates calculation please follow the steps listed below.

  1. Go to the site www.airborne.com and register for an account.

  2. Log in to X-Cart admin area and go to the Administration menu -> General settings -> Shipping options section.

  3. Select the Real-time shipping calculation check box.

  4. Provide your Airborne account information by entering your Airborne API System ID, Airborne API password and Airborne Account Number into the appropriate fields on the Shipping options page. If you are going to test this processor first, select Use Airborne test server check box. Click on Save.

  1. Go to the Shipping methods section of the admin zone (Management menu->Shipping methods), click the Options link opposite Airborne to define options for this processor.

  2. Fill in the Airborne options form according to your preferences. Click on Apply.

  1. If you haven't yet provided your original address in the Administration menu -> General settings -> Company options section, do it now.

  2. Go back to the Management menu -> Shipping methods -> Test Real-time Shipping Rates Calculation section and try to test real-time shipping rates calculation:

- enter a destination address (for test purposes only)
- enter package weight (units should be defined in the  Administration menu -> General settings -> General options section: 'Weight symbol' and 'Grams in the unit of weight defined by the weight symbol');

Setting up Canada Post

If you want to use Canada Post for real-time shipping rates calculation please follow the steps listed below.

  1. Go to the site http://www.canadapost.ca and register for an account.

  2. Log in to X-Cart admin area and go to the Administration menu -> General settings -> Shipping options section.

  3. Select the Real-time shipping calculation check box.

  4. Provide your Canada Post account information by entering your Canada Post merchant ID into the appropriate field on the Shipping options page. If you are going to test this processor first, select Use Canada Post test server check box. Click on Save.

  1. Go to the Shipping methods section of the admin zone (Management menu->Shipping methods), click the Options link opposite Canada Post to define options for this processor.

  2. Fill in the Canada Post options form according to your preferences. Click on Apply.

  1. If you haven't yet provided your original address in the Administration menu -> General settings -> Company options section, do it now.

  2. Go back to the Management menu -> Shipping methods -> Test Real-time Shipping Rates Calculation section and try to test real-time shipping rates calculation:
    - enter a destination address (for test purposes only)
    - enter package weight (units should be defined in the  Administration menu -> General settings -> General options section: 'Weight symbol' and 'Grams in the unit of weight defined by the weight symbol');
    - click on the     Submit button to get XML request and response results and estimated shipping rates.

Setting up FedEx

If you want to use FedEx for real-time shipping rates calculation please follow the steps listed below.

  1. Log in to X-Cart admin area and go to the Administration menu -> General settings -> Shipping options section.

  2. Select the Real-time shipping calculation check box. Click on Save.

  3. Go to the Shipping methods section of the admin zone (Management menu->Shipping methods), click the Options link opposite FedEx to define options for this processor.

  4. Fill in the FedEx options form according to your preferences. Click on Apply.

  1. If you haven't yet provided your original address in the Administration menu -> General settings -> Company options section, do it now.

  2. Import FedEx zone locator charts and rates tables by clicking on the Import button (the files will be imported from the location specified in the field 'Server path to files' to the database). Mind that FedEx rates are subject to change, and periodically you will have to import rates data from FedEx site to ensure up-to-date rates for your customers. Click the 'Read more about importing here...' link at the bottom of the 'FedEx options' form to find out how that can be done.

  3. Go back to the Management menu -> Shipping methods -> Test Real-time Shipping Rates Calculation section and try to test real-time shipping rates calculation:
    - enter a destination address (for test purposes only)
    - enter package weight (units should be defined in the  Administration menu -> General settings -> General options section: 'Weight symbol' and 'Grams in the unit of weight defined by the weight symbol');
    - click on the     Submit button to get XML request and response results and estimated shipping rates.

Setting up U.S.P.S.

If you want to use U.S.P.S. for real-time shipping rates calculation please follow the steps listed below.

  1. Go to the site http://www.usps.com and register for an account.

  2. Log in to X-Cart admin area and go to the Administration menu -> General settings -> Shipping options section.

  3. Select the Real-time shipping calculation check box.

  4. Provide your U.S.P.S. account information by entering the U.S.P.S. server name, your U.S.P.S. username and password  into the appropriate fields on the Shipping options page. Click on Save.

  1. Go to the Shipping methods section of the admin zone (Management menu->Shipping methods), click the Options link opposite U.S.P.S. to define options for this processor.

  2. Fill in the U.S.P.S. options form according to your preferences. Click on Apply.

  1. If you haven't yet provided your original address in the Administration menu -> General settings -> Company options section, do it now.

  2. Go back to the Management menu -> Shipping methods -> Test Real-time Shipping Rates Calculation section and try to test real-time shipping rates calculation:
    - enter a destination address (for test purposes only)
    - enter package weight (units should be defined in the  Administration menu -> General settings -> General options section: 'Weight symbol' and 'Grams in the unit of weight defined by the weight symbol');
    - click on the     Submit button to get XML request and response results and estimated shipping rates.

Setting up UPS

If you want to use UPS for shipping your goods, you will have to enable and configure 'UPS OnLine ® Tools'. Please note that you can use 'UPS OnLine ® Tools' module in combination with other real-time shipping modules (USPS, FedEx, DHL). To configure UPS OnLine ® Tools, either go to the 'Shipping methods' section of the admin zone (Management menu->Shipping methods) and click the 'UPS OnLine Tools configure' link opposite UPS, or click on UPS OnLine ® Tools in the Management menu. You can find information on setting up UPS in the topic 'UPS OnLine Tools' of this manual.

 

Note. Real-time shipping rates calculation may be also tested via the General settings -> Shipping options section
